Block printing is a hand printing technique where patterns are carved into blocks of wood that are soaked in oil to allow the wood to absorb the pigment. Then the artisans press the wood block onto the fabric to create a continuous pattern. The unique characteristics and lack of uniformity are what makes these items so special. Discharge printing uses handheld screen that produce rich, saturated prints when the pigments permeate the fabric. Through a series of color applications and rinses the result is rich color and soft to the touch. Tokari means Topiary in hindi.
